Join the 14th Kin Town Tanbo Festa on July 7, 2024

  • Events

Hey there, adventurers and fun-seekers! Mark your calendars for Sunday, July 7, 2024, because the 14th Kin Town Tanbo Festa is happening at the Nature Mirai Hall in Kin Town, Okinawa Prefecture. Trust me, this is one muddy, splashy, and laugh-out-loud event you won’t want to miss. 🎉

What’s All the Buzz About? 🐝

This isn’t your everyday festival. We’re talking about the rare and wildly popular rice paddy (tanbo) play right here in Okinawa! Get ready to dive into the mud with activities like “tanbo races” and “parent-child obstacle courses.” Yep, you’ll be head-to-toe in mud, so don’t forget a change of clothes and a towel. Mud masks for everyone! 😂

More Than Just Mud 🌿

If getting muddy isn’t your thing (what’s wrong with you?), there are plenty of other cool activities:

  • Canoeing 🚣‍♀️ and SUP (Stand-Up Paddleboarding) 🌊
  • Bingata (Traditional Dyeing) 🎨 and Island Sandal Art 🩴
  • Painting Shisa Statues 🦁
  • Water Buffalo Cart Rides 🐃 through mangroves and rice fields (recommended for a chill experience)

Special Guests and Performances 🎭

Guess what? The “Kamen Rider Gotchard Show” will be on at 3 PM, and it’s free! There will also be kitchen cars (fancy food trucks, folks) and street performances. It’s a full day of fun, food, and fantastic performances. 🍔🎪
