Japan is known as the Nation of The Rising Sun. Nippon, her name in Japanese literally means that, and you know where in Japan the sun rises the first? Along the east coast of Chiba prefecture, there is a place called Inuboh Cliff. The word Inuboh means a howling dog. Each year on new year’s day, tens of thousands of people from all over Japan come here to welcome the first sunlight of the year.
In partnership with the train line that takes people to Inuboh Station (Choshi Denkitetsudo) and OKINAWA TOURIST SERVICE, we created a postcard for 2020’s first sunlight in Japan. The postcard will be sold at Inuboh Cliff Station to raise funds for the Shuri Castle restoration effort. 2019 is a year to remember for all Okinawans in spirit. We lost the symbol of Okinawa, Shuri Castle, in a fire on October 31st. As an Okinawa local business, we are horned to be part of this project to help drive awareness and funds towards the rebuild of our icon.
Oki Social fans, you can only buy this card at Inuboh Cliff station, and I encourage you do visit on News Year’s Day at least once in your life. If you can’t be there, we are giving away 200 cards to our fans, and here is how you can get one for free.
