Get ready to step into a winter wonderland at the Ryukyu Lantern Festival, happening from December 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025! 🌟 This year marks the 10th anniversary, and it promises to dazzle with over 3,000 stunning lanterns illuminating the streets of Yomitan Village! 🏮

What to Expect 🌈
Imagine wandering through a cultural park that feels like you’ve traveled back to the glamorous 14th-15th century Ryukyu Dynasty. That’s what you’ll find at the Experience Kingdom Murasakimura! As you enter, towering Chinese lanterns will welcome you, creating an otherworldly vibe that might just have you questioning reality. Seriously, who needs a time machine? 😄
The main highlight is the Tenshi Kan, a reconstructed lodging that once housed envoys from the Chinese Emperor. You’ll marvel at an impressive Aomori Nebuta dragon that looks like it’s ready to burst into action against the backdrop of red-tiled buildings. Talk about a photo op! 📸
There are also areas featuring Vietnamese lanterns and lantern sculptures, plus interactive experiences like projection mapping and active workshops where you can make your own washi lantern. Get ready to unleash your inner artist! 🎨

Food, Glorious Food! 🍜
As the lanterns begin to glow, the lantern cafe opens its doors at the majestic Shena Tei. Treat yourself to delicious offerings like Chinese pork buns, dumplings, and even Taiwanese sausages. And don’t worry, we’ve got your thirst covered with beer and soft drinks. You can eat in or nibble as you wander through the lantern magic. It’s basically a win-win situation! 😋
