It has been crazy hot the last few weeks in Okinawa, but we also welcomed the most exciting time on the island – summer.
Let’s kick up the sandals, hit one of the many fantastic beaches, take a day-trip to the waterfall, and chase it down with a shaved ice – Okinawa style.
Need some slack time to reflect? Switch to the high gear to cruise along route 58 or hop on a paddle board during sunset to watch the world spins in slow mode.
After nightfall, there are endless local festivals for your entertainment. Line up to try local street food with an Orion beer or freshly squeezed fruit juice. Feeling competitive? Play the old school game at the game booth against the local kids.
But, watch out.

The good news is Okinawans are very experienced with the typhoon and buildings are made to keep us safe and cool, so our sweet dreams don’t get interrupted.
