What’s the Contest All About?
Imagine blending the rich culture of Okinawa with the spooky fun of Halloween—Shisa lions in witch hats, haunted castles with a tropical twist, and eisa dancers under a full moon! Your mission? Create your best black-and-white Halloween in Okinawa masterpiece and get a chance to have it published by Oki Social! That’s right, your art could be featured in 200 printed copies at the Ohana Community Shop and available as a digital download for the world to enjoy!
It’s time to take your talents from the drawing board to the streets (and the internet)! Whether you’re 6 or 60, we’ve got two categories to ensure everyone has a fair shot: Under 16 years old and 16+ years old.
Get Your Art Seen and Voted On!
The best part? The finalists will be voted on by the community! Your artwork will be showcased for the world to see, and your friends, family, and fans can vote for your design on Facebook!

Here’s How to Get Involved:
- Submit your artwork via our online form: Click here to submit your entry.
- File Requirements: Your artwork must be in black and white (no color!) and submitted as a .jpg or .png file. File size should be no more than 10 MB.
- One Entry Per Person: You can only submit once, and if you upload multiple files, only your last submission will count!
- Quality Matters: Make sure your image is high-resolution (300 dpi). Low-quality, blurry images will be disqualified without notice.
- Design around the theme “Halloween in Okinawa”. Think of Shisa lions transformed into spooky creatures, haunted Okinawan landscapes, or maybe even a tropical take on classic Halloween icons like pumpkins and witches! Let your imagination run wild.
- Submit by October 10, 2024: It’s quick, easy, and can be done from anywhere! Don’t miss your chance to participate and show off your skills.
What’s in it for You?
- If you win, your artwork will be professionally published by Oki Social!
- 200 printed copies will be available at the Ohana Community Shop in late October, and your design will be offered as a digital download on our website.
- Major bragging rights! You’ll be celebrated as a creative leader in our community, both online and offline.
How Do You Win?
- Our internal panel will review all submissions and select up to 10 finalists based on creativity, theme, and overall quality.
- Those finalists will be featured on our Facebook page for public voting from October 11-14. Rally your supporters—likes and shares will determine the winners!
- Two winners (one from each age category) will be announced on October 15, 2024, so get ready to see your artwork take center stage!
